Hospitals Florence

1st thing to do is go to your local ASL and get the booklet that allows you to get your labortory test, ultrasounds and other technical test done for free.  You must take this booklet to your primary health doctor and have he/she sign and stamp the pages.  There is no real point in having to pay for these test. (Make sure you schedule your ultrasound and the other technical test right away, it fills up quickly)

Next you need to decide if you want to have the baby by a private or public hospital.  This is always a big decision and there are a few ways to do it.  I opted to have my child in a public hospital for free (knowing also that I was going to have a C-section), but I went to a private doctor for my doctor visits. I have to say I didn't have any problems (the most is that the doctors are not big on giving pain medicine even after a surgery, but we did eventauly get it).

Lastly,   you need to decide what hospital.  There are many and they all have different techniques.  What I mean by this is that some the baby stays in your room, while the other hospitals whisk them away to another floor.  This is a decision made solely by you and how you feel.  My advice would be to check out the different hospitals close to you and see which one you like.

Finally, Go and have a beautiful pregnancy, delivery, and baby.
